Families Helping Families of Iowa is a non-profit organization committed to "Caring for Iowa's Children in Foster Care," spanning from infancy to 18 years of age. Our services extend across all 99 counties in Iowa, catering to three primary categories: Essentials, Educational, and Celebrations. There are currently 7,000 children in foster care in Iowa. It’s our mission to make these children into happy and healthy adults giving them the support they need! Net proceeds will support Families Helping Families and Sunrise Rotary. FHF is hosting its 2nd Annual Garage Sale on Saturday, June 29, from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 30 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Each year, FHF relies on community donations to sustain its Clothing Closet, enabling children in foster care or those who have been adopted to access essential items. To manage the volume of donations received within the confines of limited storage space, FHF sells surplus clothing donations or items that have remained unutilized for over a year during the annual garage sale. Items donated new, will not be placed in the garage sale. Donations bought for events will not be placed in the garage sale. All proceeds generated will be allocated towards enhancing the organization's operational capacities and program services.
