Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: My children are adopted do they qualify to attend this event?

A: Yes, they need to go under ADOPTED status at the beginning of the application. DO NOT PUT ADOPTED CHILDREN UNDER OTHER CHILDREN IN THE HOUSEHOLD.

Q: Is this available to bio children?

A: For biological children to attend this event you must have at least one CHILD IN FOSTER CARE OR ADOPTED THROUGH THE STATE OF IOWA in the household.

Q: I do not have kids in foster care, do I still qualify?

A : Regrettably to receive services and attend our events you must have a child in foster care.

Q: How do you register?

A: Registration MUST BE DONE ONLINE and will not be done over the phone or via email.

Q: I can’t attend the event, can I pick up presents after the event at the office?

A: It is advisable to have a backup plan if you are unable to attend the event with your children. Another adult may accompany the children, provided that this individual has the necessary information for check-in.

Q: Can I bring my grandkids?

A: As long as your grandchildren are placed with you by the State of Iowa please provide your caseworker’s name and email.

Q: Can I pick up extra presents after the event?

A: Due to staffing and other FHF obligations we are not allowing caregivers to come after the event to pick up presents.

Q: I have more than 5 children how do I register all of them?

A: Please start a new application with the remaining children.

Q: What do we need to register children for the event?

A. Just like any service or event FHF provides you need a Medicaid number, and caseworker’s information, which includes their email.

Q: What if I don’t know my Medicaid number?

A. Please check your paperwork, call the customer service line, or contact your caseworker. Your Medicaid number consists of seven numbers and ends in a letter.

Q: I forgot to register my kids, can I get on the registration?

A. Registration deadline is FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6, and will be closing at 3:00 pm. Once registration is closed it will not reopen.
